RIDOT: Pawtucket/Central Falls Commuter Rail Station
RIDOT has been collaborating with state and local officials, transit, bus transit, railroad stakeholders and designers to come up with a new station design that creates a hub for commuters traveling to Boston in the north and to Providence, T.F Green and Wickford in the south. The project is a design-build and includes a new Pawtucket/Central Falls Commuter Rail Station and bus hub and provides opportunities for TOD in the area.
RND is assisting the VHB team in technical peer review of the 30%, 60%, 90%, and 100% design stage submissions including construction phase services and PS&E. These submissions include track, structural, site/civil, utility, MEP, and highway design. Additionally, RND is supporting the VHB team and RIDOT project manager on the management and submittal of the early construction package. Lastly, RND, in coordination with VHB, will assist the RIDOT project manager in commissioning services, including inspections, document control, training, and testing prior to revenue service.
