Project Description:

The MBTA is performing an assessment of the stations to document overhead safety concerns along the system. Phase I scope includes visual inspections of stations from the edge of platform six inches and above platform level, and to complete a condition assessment spreadsheet of any overhead area of concern. Phase II involves revisiting the areas identified in Phase I with a hands-on inspection including hand tools, flaggers, and ROW access during non-operating hours. RND is assisting with Phase I and Phase II inspections, photos and field notes, rating conditions in the field, and assisting the prime with the station assessment spreadsheet in order to ensure safety concerns are properly identified, prioritized, and documented along the MBTA and Commuter Rail systems.

Role: RND is a key PM/CM Team member responsible for assisting with station assessments of all the MBTA stations on the system. RND performs station assessments from edge platform to edge of platform 6 inches and above platform level at the following stations: Ruggles, Mass Ave, Back Bay, Tufts Medical Center, Herald St, Chinatown, State, Haymarket, Community College, Sullivan Square, Assembly, Wellington, Malden Center, and Oak Grove. RND is performing training of team members, QA/QC, detailed documentation and is team lead on inspections.
