RIAC: Easement Acquisition Services
The Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) is responsible for planning and operating the physical infrastructure of T.F. Green and five General Aviation airports in Rhode Island. To meet current and future aviation demands in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) standards, various easements are needed for RIAC to meet its responsibilities. As directed by the FAA, RIAC is obligated to maintain areas surrounding the airports in a manner that is clear of objects affecting navigable airspace. Aviation easements are needed to be acquired on off-airport properties in order to achieve and maintain clear navigable airspace.
RND is supporting RIAC in the easement acquisition process on off-airport properties. This includes but is not limited to obtaining title searches, surveys, preparing draft easements, obtaining appraisals and review appraisals, and negotiating with property owners. RND has a comprehensive and strategic approach to acquiring easements, takings, and relocations on behalf of public transportation agencies. This approach supports the client in acquiring easements in accordance with FAA regulations, the Uniform Act, and the Airport Improvement Program.
