Plymouth Transit Alternatives Study
RND is assisting a private client on analyzing transit alternatives to unlock the potential of a catalytic development site in North Plymouth. The first phase of the project involved a technical and qualitative feasibility study for the replacement of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) Plymouth Branch Commuter Rail with alternative transit modes that could enhance ridership to and from Plymouth Station and Downtown Plymouth itself. The aim of the transit enhancements will be to unlock additional Transit-Oriented Development potential at Plymouth Station (aka “Cordage Park”), provide more frequent transit service for Plymouth residents to and from Downtown Boston (South Station), and provide visitors and employees more direct transit access to restaurants, shops, services, and other business and tourist destinations in Plymouth.
Along with the feasibility study, RND is assisting the client on strategy development, stakeholder coordination, funding alternatives, and project management to lift this study from an idea to a transformative project. RND is able to bring technical knowledge as well as high level advisory to this project through its experienced and diverse team members.
