Town of Milton: Animal Shelter OPM
The Town of Milton, MA, in conjunction with the Milton Animal League is constructing a new, state-of-the-art 5,400sf animal shelter to replace the old and functionally obsolete shelter. The new animal shelter will provide a significant increase in space for animals, full surgical room for operations and procedures, adoption rooms and indoor/outdoor spaces for dogs to get regular exercise while staying at the shelter. This project has been a goal of the stakeholders for many years and when built, will be a building of pride for animal enthusiasts and residents alike. The shelter will also be a secondary emergency shelter for the Town upon completion.
RND was hired by the Town of Milton to provide Owner’s Project Management (OPM) to the project. RND has been working closely with the Architect and cost estimators to ensure all project documents are cohesive, ready for the rigorous Massachusetts public construction procurement process and the building is within the allocated budget set aside by the Town and Milton Animal League. As this project moves to construction, RND will be responsible for managing and overseeing the contractor and working with the Architect to ensure submittals and RFI’s are turned around swiftly and properly. RND will manage the schedule and budget of the project and work as a liaison between the project team and the Town (Milton Animal Shelter Advisory Committee) to help resolve issues and keep the project on track.
